Die Kalkhuis Enquire
Atlantic swell on a West Coast beach at dusk

Paternoster · West Coast

Four rooms. The Atlantic. Nothing extra.

A small guesthouse on the sand road. Breakfast in the courtyard. The beach is an eight-minute walk.

The house

Limewashed walls, a courtyard, and the smell of salt.

Die Kalkhuis is four rooms in an old Paternoster cottage. No TVs. Slow wifi. A long table for breakfast. We keep it that way on purpose.

Come for two nights at least. The village only starts to make sense on the second morning, when the crayfish boats are already out.

Long West Coast beach with pale sand and open sky

The village

Paternoster is still a fishing town. Stay long enough to notice.

White cottages, a working harbour, and restaurants that close when they feel like it. Cape Town is two hours down the R27.

Lounge with a sofa and late-afternoon light
“We came for one night and stayed four. The house does not try too hard. That is the point.”
